A NEW SESQUITERPENE ESTER FROM Ferula ferganensis
Abstract
Ferula ferganensis is a perennial medicinal plant belonging to the Apiaceae family, distributed in the Fergana Valley and adjacent regions of Uzbekistan. This species contains a large number of biologically active natural compounds, especially sesquiterpenoids and sesquiterpene coumarins. In recent years, there has been increasing interest in studying the chemical structure and pharmacological properties of these compounds. As a result of phytochemical studies, ferutinin, farnesiferol A, farnesiferol B, farnesiferol C, conferol, kellerin and other sesquiterpene coumarins have been isolated from Ferula ferganensis. These substances have dryman, eudesman and other sesquiterpene skeletons and exhibit specific biological activity. The root of Ferula ferganensis was extracted with ethanol, and the chloroform fraction (benzene:ethyl acetate) was purified by silica gel (SGC) column chromatography. Using these methods, bioactive compounds were isolated individually, and their chemical properties and composition were determined. As a result of the study, a new sesquiterpene of the daucan series was isolated from the root of Ferula ferganensis, and its structure was confirmed by spectroscopic of the 1H and 13C NMR spectra was carried out on the basis of data from HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY experiments methods.
