ESSENTIAL OIL COMPOSITION OF Trэpleurospermum corymbosum (ASTERACEAE), AN ENDANGERED STENOENDEMIC SPECIES FROM TЬRKЭYE
Abstract
Tripleurospermum Sch.Bip. (Asteraceae) is represented by 33 taxa in Tьrkiye, of which 17 are endemic. In this study, essential oil composition of Tripleurospermum corymbosum E.Hossain, stenoendemic species in Tьrkiye, was studied for the first time in detail from its type locality, Aрrэ provience of Tьrkiye. For this purpose, the plant samples was collected from its natural population. Then, microdistilled essential oils of the dried capitula were analyzed by GC-FID and GC-MS. The present findings showed that the oil of T. corymbosum was characterized by the occurrence of (2Z, 8Z)-matricaria ester (59.3%), (2E, 8Z)-matricaria ester (2.2%), (2Z, 8E)-matricaria ester (1.0%), 8Z-2,3-dihydromatricaria ester (0.7%) and (2E, 8E)-matricaria ester (0.2%) as main constituents.
