INTEGRATED SYSTEM ACCELERATES ACADEMIC DRUG RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFERRING
Abstract
The ultimate goals of scientific research on medicine is to innovate advanced technologies and drugs that are beneficial to humanity and society. But from R&D lab to hospital bed, there are plenty of obstacles and risks, such as the technical failures that can occur at any time, the challenges in technology transferring, etc. In this talk, we would like to present our solution of overcoming these difficulties by establishing an integrated academia-research-industry full-chain system that covering lead discovery, druggability optimization, preclinical and clinical research, and the industrialization and commercialization of active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations. This system has significantly improved the efficiency of our research and the translation of our scientific achievements into practical applications. This system also works as a reservoir of candidate drugs, technologies, and talents in case of emergency situations, for example, the emerging and sudden spreading of viral infections.
